Sahih al-Bukhari 5152

Abu 'Uthman reported from Usama ibn Zayd £ that a daughter of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent for him while he, Sa'd and Ubayy were with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. She said, "We believe that my daughter is near death, please attend us." He sent his greetings to her and said, "What Allah takes is his and what He gives is His. Everything has a fixed term with Him, so she should show fortitude and expect a reward." She sent to him adjuring him to come to her. He said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, got up and we got up as well. The child was placed in the lap of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and its breathing was ragged. Tears fell from the eyes of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Sa'd said, "Messenger of Allah, what is this?" He answered, "This is an aspect of mercy which Allah has put in the hearts of whomever He wishes of His slaves. Allah is only merciful to His slaves who are merciful." X. Visiting sick bedouins
