Thabit al-Bunani related that Anas ibn Malik said to a woman of his family, "Do you know so-and-so (a woman)?" "Yes," she answered. He said, The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed by her when she was weeping over a grave and said, 'Have fear of Allah and be patient.' She said, 'Leave me! You do not have? my affliction!' He passed her and left. A man passed by her and asked, 'What did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say to you?' 'I did not recognise him,' she said. He said, 'he was the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.' She went to his door and did not find a doorkeeper there. She said, 'Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I did mot recognise you.' The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Patience is at the first blow.'" XII.
